THE FIVE INVITATIONS: Inviting the Wisdom of Death into Life
Description: On October 15, The Dorothy Ley Hospice hosted an evening with Frank Ostaseski. He is the author of The Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully, the co-founder of the Zen Hospice Project and founder of the Metta Institute. Frank introduced his Five Invitations and principals that show the audience how to wake up fully to their lives. In his fascinating talk, Frank shared the distilled, hard-won lessons synthesized from 30 years of being with dying people. They can be understood as best practices for anyone navigating a life transition, coping with loss or serious illness or a personal crisis; they guide us toward appreciating lifeâs preciousness. The event was sponsored by the Arthur and Audrey Cutten foundation. Light refreshment and snacks were served.
